The Protection Consortium Coordinator(PCC) will work as part of the AAH team in Lebanon mission to further mainstreaming protection for an integrated approach. The PCC will have a special focus, will have special focus in operationalize the Protection Consortium strategy for Lebanon and establish relevant collaborations for its implementation.

Key activities in your role will include


Objective 1: To operationalize the consortia strategy for Lebanon and establish relevant collaborations for its implementation (45%):

  • Coordinate with the other consortia members for the development of the consortium strategy.
  • Represent AAH consortium in the related task forces/any relevant meetings.
  • Liaison, networking and building relationships with donors, UN and INGOs
  • as necessary for the strategy and under overall supervision of the Country Director and in collaboration with the consortia management.
  • Guide strategic direction of the AAH consortia implementation together with Country director and Operations Coordinator.

Objective 2: Ensure project implementation, follow-up and monitoring, reporting and evaluations (30%):

  • Support the Programme Manager for the effective implementation of Protection Consortia project activities, developing monitoring and reporting tools, and efficient use of resources in close coordination with administration and logistics;
  • Define the program implementation modalities, methodologies and tools for integrated programming together with PM.
  • Identify, jointly with the team, program constraints and problems during implementation, propose solutions and support implementation.
  • Report activities achievements both internally (to the coordination team and CD) and externally (Consortia partners)
  • Analyze the appropriateness, adequacy and potential impact of the interventions.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of the staff involved in the project, and Support the HoP plan and coordinate team members? activities

Objective 3: To design and operationalize a programmatic plan to mainstream Protection and Gender in the mission (25%):

  • Coordinate and implement with the Protection advisor Action Against Hunger Global Gender Strategy and validated action plan
  • Support the Protection advisor in the development of an action plan to incorporate Protection Mainstreaming principles into regular programming of the mission.
  • Participate in Protection related coordination meetings and other relevant working groups or meetings as required, representing AAH and feeding back to the Country Director on relevant issues.
  • Closely monitor relevant humanitarian and policy issues, including media reports, surveys, statistical reports, databases and relevant literature, as needed to produce reports and background/position papers.
  • Identify training needs of the teams in the mission and create a plan to increase them to adopt protection standards in the regular programming.

Objective 4: Security

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and perform the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols.
  • Communicate to the security managers of the working location any security related information or noncompliance with the security plan.

Do you meet the profile required criteria?


  • The person should have the capacity to have a comprehensive vision and leadership skills to carry out an integrated intervention that involves new ways of working and cross-sectors.
  • Both, internally and externally from the organization, the flexibility and creative thinking should be incorporated to the daily work.
  • Good understanding of the political and humanitarian context of the Syria crisis in Lebanon and projections of the conflict.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination. Applicable to the ability of individual and team work; and the networking skills in the humanitarian fora.
  • From 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Acquainted with the Middle East context, knowledge of the context in Lebanon is an advantage.

Our remuneration package:


We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 11 months
  • Salary: from 2.440 USD to 3.086 USD gross per month according to candidate's previous experience (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain). Action Against Hunger - Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.

  • Up to 20% additional remuneration depending on the position's context and responsibilities (according the grading scale set by Action Against Hunger)
  • House and maintenance covered by the organization (including per diem): package estimated according to the destination.
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
  • Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215 euros.
  • Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization.
  • Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100 to 225 euros monthly (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain).
