The Business Development & Consultancies Responsible is in charge of developing the area to ensure the growth of the organization in this new area of work, the necessary organizational change as well as to comply with the commitments acquired with our partners and a good execution of the Contract EuropeAid framework.

The position of Business Development & Consultancies Responsible has four main objectives:

  • Development of the strategy and business plan of Consulting and Technical Assistance, as part of a business development department in Acción contra el Hambre Spain
  • Creation and maintenance of the pool of experts
  • Management of the three lots of the EuropeAid Framework Contract
  • Business Development and project management of Technical Assistance

Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Development of the technical assistance and consultancy strategy, as part of a department of business development in action against hunger spain.

  • Definition of the strategy in Consulting and Technical Assistance and alignment with the strategy of the organization
  • Definition of work processes linked to the presentation and management of Consulting and Technical Assistance projects

Objective 2: Creation and maintenance of the pool of internal and external experts of action against hunger spain.

  • Identification of all potential candidates for TA using tools such as the HR software (HRIS) as well as interviews with heads of HQ departments
  • Mapping of candidates in the field (national / regional) in coordination with the HR focal points / Country Directors in the missions

Objective 3: Management of the three lots of the europeaid framework contract

  • Communication and representation of Acción contra el Hambre in the three consortiums
  • Identification and proposal of candidates for missions (Request of Services)
  • Adaptation of the CVs to the donor format and presentation of the necessary administrative documentation

Objective 4: Business development and management of technical assistance projects

  • Identification of opportunities and presentation of expressions of interest
  • Bid Management - Coordination of the preparation of proposals
  • Project Management - Project Management of Technical Assistance

Do you meet the profile required criteria ?

  • Training in International Relations, Political Sciences, Economics, Business Administration or similar.
  • Postgraduate training in international cooperation for development, project management, MBA or similar.
  • Minimum previous experience of 6 years.
  • Experience in presentation and management of technical assistance projects and consultancies, especially with EuropeAid funds.
  • Valuable experience in non-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and regulation of the European Union (PRAG).
  • Valuable experience and knowledge of contracting procedures of other Multilateral Financial Institutions (WB, IDB, ADB).
  • Essential Spanish and English level C1-C2 in oral and written expression.
  • Essential French level B2-C1 in oral and written expression.
  • Excellent domain of Office.
  • Knowledge in database management
  • Availability for short national and international trips
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.

Our remuneration package:

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 24months
  • Base: Madrid
  • Compensation packaged: from 28.000 to 32.000 Euros gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)
  • (*) in local currency subject to unexpected changes in currency exchange)
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
  • Meal vouchers.
