Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action Against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.


The Advocacy Coordinator will work as part of the Action Against Hunger oPt Mission to develop strategic advocacy and contribute to the overall programs of Action Against Hunger in the country.

Key activities in your role will include

  • To operationalize the advocacy strategy for OPT and establish relevant collaborations for its implementation.
  • Conduct research and lobbying on root causes of vulnerabilities faced by our beneficiaries/right holders and by the mission in the discharge of its humanitarian mandate and action.
  • To liaise with external stakeholders and headquarters to ensure collaboration in the development and implementation of advocacy work for the OPT mission
  • Provide regular updates to Country Director to inform appropriate decision making processes.
  • Participate in the updates of security plans and coordinate activities with the technical and support teams of Action Against Hunger in the OPT

Do you meet the profile required criteria ?

  • Master degree in law or any other related field
  • A demonstrated understanding of relevant areas of international law, in particular of international humanitarian law
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years relevant professional experience in advocacy and communications
  • Good knowledge of the oPt context. Previous working experience on oPt desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience working in humanitarian and/or development aid
  • Proven track record of achieving international media coverage, both traditional and new media
  • Experience with international organizations and donors
  • Languages: English compulsory, Hebrew/Arabic desirable.
  • Mobility (national/ international): International with ability to travel to West bank and Gaza and stay overnight
  • Valuable prior experience in issues related to the promotion of gender equality or personal commitment to gender equality.

Our remuneration package:

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 12 months.
  • Base: Jerusalem
  • Compensation packaged: from 33.734 to 40.334 Euros gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)
  • Guest House or similar accommodation covered by the organization
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • Expat Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
  • (*) in local currency subject to unexpected changes in currency exchange
