The Grant(s) Manager, in close collaboration with the Country Director/Deputy Country Director and the Coordination Team, will ensure regular oversight, monitoring, and support to the management of the Mission´s grant portfolio, all through the lifecycle, from early discussions with the donor and/or organisational partners, proposal preparation, to grant compliance checks, and reporting.

The Grant(s) Manager will ensure timely and quality formulation/submission of Donors proposals/concept notes, in accordance to the annual Volume Objective Signature, ensure coordination (Mission - HQ) and monitoring of proposals and reports through established tools and ensure adequate Donor´s communications/requests. He/she will further ensure timely and high-quality Donors reports to all Action Against Hunger´s grants in prescribed formats and in accordance to contracts requirements.

The Grant(s) Manager will take the lead and coordinate the process of development of high quality funding proposals, concept notes and reports in compliance with donor regulations, and shall follow mission-level and HQ related established processes, and ensure all documentation is in line with Action Against Hunger´s Internal Guidelines and according to mission standards.

This is an extremely dynamic and rigorous role, requiring strong coordination and organisation skills, to ensure that all deliverables are produced in a timely manner, which can be a challenge at times. The Grant(s) Manager will keep in regular contact with all staff involved in the implementation of grants.

Key activities in your role will include

  • Objective 1: Identification, coordination, preparation, writing and submission of quality and timely proposals/concept notes, following Action Against Hunger´s validation processes and taking into account the donor guidelines
  • Objective 2: Coordinate and supervise the production and submission of quality and timely donor reports
  • Objective 3: Provide Strategic, Technical, and Coordinated support to Grants Management

Do you meet the profile required criteria ?

  • Master´s Degree in Humanitarian Action or any related field (international relations, political science, law, etc.)
  • Good experience in proposal writing, donor rules and regulations, validation procedures, coordination of processes. Experience in Project Cycle Management. Ability to write donor reports and proposals in excellent English. Kit log; Kit Finance; FSL/WASH; Theory of Change
  • At least 2 years as Grant Writer or similar (i.e. Project Officer)
  • Proven ability to work independently under minimal guidance, pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Solid experience and proven ability in proposal writing, reporting, major donor rules and guidelines
  • Representation capacity and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Action Against Hunger and its procedures an asset
  • Excellent English (compulsory working language, spoken, read and written); Spanish (desirable); Arabic (useful)
  • IT systems: Windows and Office domain, NHF, Gespra
  • Mobility: International. The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon within the HuB Syrian Team. This includes frequent trips to Damascus.

Our remuneration package:

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 12 months from 01/12/2018
  • Base: Beirut
  • Excellent remuneration package

In addition:

  • Guest House or similar accommodation covered by the organization
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • Expat Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization
  • Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100 to 225 Euros monthly (according to standard list of Action against Hunger -Spain).
  • Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215 Euros.
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
