Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expats and more than 5,000 employees are working for Action Against Hunger in more than forty-six countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation.


The Head of Project is ultimately responsible for the implementation of the projects which fall under their responsibility. As such they are responsible for the financial, HR management and the implementation of project activities to ensure that activities are implemented on time and in line with agreed contracts.

Key activities in your role will include


Objective 1: Planning and implementation of project activities

Objective 2: Management of financial resources

  • The Head of Project is responsible for the financial planning and follow-up of the project.
  • The Head of Project should actively manage the available resources to ensure that they are efficiently allocated in line with donor standards and compliance.

Objective 3: Planning of logistics procurements for the project

  • The Head of Project should ensure that there is a clear and implementable procurement plan for the project and review this on a monthly basis with the Logistics Department.

Objective 4: HR management and planning for project staff

Objective 5: Ensure the accurate monitoring and reporting of programmes

  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing all external reports to ensure the accuracy and relevance of information reported and that reports are submitted in a timely manner and to an appropriate standard.

Objective 6: Adherence to donor guidelines and technical standards

  • The Head of Project should regularly review the project activities to ensure their compliance with key technical standards and compliance to donor rules and regulations.

Do you meet the profile required criteria ?

  • University Degree
  • At least 3 years previous field experience in a relief NGO with integrated (multi-sectorial) project management.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management both in emergency contexts.
  • Experience in management of volatile security contexts with capacity to face a stressful environment.
  • Knowledge of donor guidelines and procedures.
  • A strong knowledge of Project Cycle Management and reporting.
  • Understanding of Action Against Hunger´s programs and policies.
  • Languages: English
  • MS Office very strong command.
  • Advanced level of Excel.
  • Mobility (national/ international)

Our remuneration package:

We offer immediate incorporation to a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Formal work contract: 12 months.
  • Base: Iligan
  • Compensation packaged: from 25.416 to 30.336 Euros gross/year divided in 12 payments and based on experience y context. This salary includes a base salary + context plus + living expenses and per Diem (*)
  • Guest House or similar accommodation covered by the organization
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • Expat Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
